It Is National Work Zone Awareness Week

Transportation officials are asking Kansans to wear something orange tomorrow (WED)(April the 6th) to help commemorate “national work zone awareness week”. K-DOT’s Kim Stitch says its part of a campaign to get motorists to slow down and be more aware in construction zones.

Some tips for driving in work zones include staying alert, following traffic control and expecting delays.

Bill Self Examines Roadblocks to Final Four

This weekend, the Final Four teams in the NCAA men's tournament face off...and for the first since 2006, no number-1 seeds are still in the hunt for the title. That's bad news for fans of the number-one seeded University of Kansas Jayhawks, who lost Sunday to the Virginia Commonwealthy University Rams. While NCAA tournament followers are trying to figure out what happened to their brackets, stunned KU fans are simply asking, 'What happened?' Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin has more.

Federal Judge Says Sunflower Electric Project Needs Review

A federal judge says Sunflower Electric Power Corporation needs more environmental review and public input before it can proceed with expansion of its coal-fired power plant near Holcomb, in southwest Kansas. As Kansas Public Radio’s Bryan Thompson reports, the ruling is in response to a lawsuit filed on behalf of the Sierra Club.

Self Licks Wounds After Season-Ending Loss

Kansas Jayhawks basketball coach Bill Self dreads his trip this weekend to Houston for the coaches convention. It's held in conjunction with the Final Four. As Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin reports, Self says it will be tough after KU's season-ending loss on Sunday.

Meanwhile in the National Invitation Tournament, Wichita State advanced to the title game tomorrow (THUR) night in New York against Alabama. The Shockers defeated Washington State, 75-44, last (TUE) night.
