Conversations: Ron Powers, "No One Cares about Crazy People"

Ron Powers is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and bestselling author. On this edition of Conversations, we’ll talk about his research into mental health care. Ron Powers has written a book that is a blend of history, biography, memoir, and current affairs … it’s called No One Cares about Crazy People. Be advised that some of the descriptions you will hear in this discussion are graphic and disturbing. Ron Powers became an advocate for the ethical treatment of the mentally ill after his two sons were diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Dan Skinner is a former Director of Kansas Public Radio and the Audio-Reader Network. He is the host of KPR's Conversations program.
