Conversations: Benjamin Ludwig, "Ginny Moon"

The title character of the novel Ginny Moon, is an autistic teenaged girl and the story that unfolds is told from her perspective. Recently adopted, Ginny plots her own kidnapping in order to retrieve an item that was left behind when she was removed from her birth mother's custody. She tries to explain why the item is important, but do people understand what she is really saying? On this edition of Conversations, Benjamin Ludwig joins me to talk about his debut novel, Ginny Moon, which was inspired, in part, by his own experiences as the adoptive father of a teenager daughter with autism. Ludwig is a lifelong teacher of English and writing. He talks about the novel and stereotypes surrounding autism.
