The top-seeded Jayhawks fell to the fourth-seeded Wolverines last night (FRI) in an overtime thriller in Arlington, Texas, 87-85.The Wichita State Shockers play today (SAT) in the Elite Eight. They will face the Ohio State University Buckeyes at 6:05 tonight (SAT) in Los Angeles.In the women's N-I-T quarterfinals, Kansas State takes on Illinois. Tip-off is 4 today (SAT) in Bramlage Coliseum.The KU women's basketball team will play number one-seed Notre Dame in the women's NCAA tournament tomorrow (SUN) in Norfolk, Virginia.
  • KANSAS CITY, MO - Top-seeded Emporia State beat Southwestern Oklahoma 97-65 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Searcy, Ark. The Lady Hornets put up 55 points in the first half and got 21 of 22 free throws yesterday (FRI) to advance to the semi-finals.The Lady Hornets will face the Wayne State Wildcats at 6 p.m. today (SAT). Wayne State comes to the semi-finals after beating Pittsburg State 83-77. The Gorillas finish the year with a 23-8 overall record.
