Busker Festival 2018 Invades Downtown Lawrence

This year, more than over 20 different acts will perform on 5 different stages at the free festival in downtown Lawrence.
This year, more than over 20 different acts will perform on 5 different stages at the free festival in downtown Lawrence.

This weekend, the Busker Festival rolls into town, bringing jugglers, rope-walkers, sword-swallowers, musicians, mimes and dancers to the streets of downtown Lawrence. KPR’s Tom Parkinson spoke with the festival’s producer, Richard Renner, about the event, which is now in its 11th year. Renner says new grant funding has allowed the Busker Fest to bring in more international acts and artists.

Richard Renner is producer of the Lawrence Busker Festival. He was speaking with KPR's Tom Parkinson, an occasional street musician himself. The Busker Fest and the Art Tougeau Car Parade take place this weekend in downtown Lawrence. Find more information at  LawrenceBuskerfest.com.
