Jenkins to Hold Meetings on Gitmo Proposals

Congresswoman Opposes President's Plan
Congresswoman Opposes President's Plan

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins of the Kansas Second District has been vocal in her opposition to the possible closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison facility that houses detainees. The Pentagon is considering several locations, including the military prison at Fort Leavenworth Kansas, as possible alternatives for holding the relocated Guantanamo detainees. Jenkins calls the president's position an outrageous disregard for what the American people want, which according to Jenkins, is to keep the suspected terrorists away from the US homeland.

Jenkins and Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo plan to hold a town hall meeting in Leavenworth on Friday to discuss the situation with residents.
