Lawrence Man Helps Earthquake Victims in Nepal
A Lawrence restaurant owner is raising money to help earthquake victims in his home country of Nepal. Subarna Bhattachan (sue-BAR-nuh BAH-tah-chon) co-owns Zen Zero and two other Lawrence restaurants. With help from the Nepalese Student Association at the University of Kansas, Bhattachan says they've already been able to ship medicine and building supplies to one small village.
Bhattachan is helping organize a benefit concert in Lawrence this weekend. Four local bands will perform at Liberty Hall Sunday night at 7 o'clock. All the proceeds will benefit earthquake victims in Nepal.
