Kansas regulators are meeting today (MON) to review a proposed compromise plan that would lead to higher electricity rates for Westar Energy customers.

Westar Energy, the state's largest utility, has reached a deal with regulators and a consumer advocacy group to raise electric rates. But the increase is about half as much as the company had initially requested.
