A number of Kansas public schools are closing early this year, partially because of budget concerns and partially because several districts have unused snow days. The superintendent of Wamego public schools says they'll also close early this year - and, she's predicting more fiscal problems for her district next year.

A number of schools in eastern Kansas have called off classes today (WED) due to extremely cold temperatures. Wind chills as cold as 15 to 30 below zero are possible and a Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until noon.
