Dwight Eisenhower

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback says the state's most famous son, President and Five-Star General Dwight Eisenhower, should have more than just a plaque honoring him on the statehouse grounds. The governor says there should be a statue of Eisenhower on the grounds and he's hoping to put one there.

Taiwan has pledged $1 million to help build a memorial in Washington, D.C. to honor Republican President Dwight Eisenhower. Before serving two-terms in office, Eisenhower was a five-star general and World War II hero. He grew up in Abilene, Kansas.
