The Environmental Protection Agency has fined the Willis-Ellis Company for violating the Clean Air Act at three of its fertilizer plants in Kansas. The EPA says the company is responsible for polluting the air in White Cloud, Troy and Silver Lake. The company has now reached a settlement with the EPA.

The governor is hoping to give the state more of a say in enforcement of federal air quality standards.
