Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is trying to measure the impact that marijuana being legally purchased in Colorado is having on Kansas. Schmidt contends pot from Colorado is flooding into Kansas, where it remains illegal. He's sending hundreds of surveys to local police and prosecutors across Kansas.
Schmidt says more than 500 surveys were distributed last week to Kansas law enforcement authorities. He says his goal is to get a clear picture of what's happening in the state so "policymakers can make informed decisions."
