Officials in Kansas are trying to raise awareness of the need for foster homes in the state. More than 5,500 kids are in the system, and there’s a shortage of homes for them. As KPR’s Stephen Koranda reports, events at the Statehouse yesterday (MON) were aimed at informing Kansans about getting involved.
In Kansas, the state contracts with private organizations that manage foster care services. To find the service providers in your area, contact the Children’s Alliance of Kansas at fostercarekansas.org or call 877-345-6787.
