KPR Presents: Kansas 1972 -- Decision '72

Week of July 17, 2022: As Kansans prepare to head to the polls August 2, we look back at the Kansas election of 1972. We explore the connection between the Catholic Volga German community, a noted Democratic political strategist from Ellis County, and the 1972 governor's race. 1972 also saw the re-election of the controversial, and popular, Kansas attorney general Vern Miller. It's the latest episode of Kansas 1972, produced by Kara Heitz. Also, Dylan Lysen and Stephen Koranda of the Kansas News Service weigh in on the role Kansas churches are playing in the upcoming vote on the "Value Them Both" constitutional amendment on abortion.

You can listen to "Decision '72" and all the episodes of "Kansas 1972" anytime at https://www.humanitieskansas.org/grants-programs/kansas-1972-podcast.
