Marilynne Robinson & Sara Paretsky

It's a show for book lovers! Marilynne Robinson's highly-acclaimed 1980 novel, Housekeeping, is the Lawrence Public Library "Read Across Lawrence" book for 2014. The library is sponsoring book discussion groups, a screening of the 1987 film adaptation, and a March 6th author visit at Plymouth Congregational Church. On this week's show, we'll also hear from Sara Paretsky, whose Bleeding Kansas is the "Kansas Reads" book for 2014, chosen by the Kansas Center for the Book at the State Library of Kansas. Tune in for this encore broadcast of Paretsky talking about Bleeding Kansas, and then join in a special Twitter conversation with this former Kansan on March 11.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
