For over a decade, award-winning journalist Daniel Connolly has covered Mexican immigration to the U.S. South for news organizations including The Associated Press in Little Rock and The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal. On this edition of Conversations, I talk with him about his book The Book of Isaias – A Child of Hispanic Immigrants Seeks His Own America. Connolly shares the story of 18 year-old student Isaias Ramos and his peers. Connolly followed their lives for three years to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing them as children of immigrants. Connolly notes that one in four young people in America today are the children of immigrants. "That's the future of our country," says Connolly.
