Beechcraft has shut down its business jet manufacturing as it reorganizes during Chapter 11 bankruptcy.==========Pratt Teen Killed in Car-Truck AccidentPRATT, Kan. (AP) — A 16-year-old Pratt High School football player has died after his car crossed the center line and struck a semitrailer in south-central Kansas. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Drake Evert was killed in the crash yesterday (SAT) morning on K-61 near Preston. The Wichita Eagle reports the truck driver, Robert Myerski of Pennsylvania was taken to a hospital. A portion of the highway was closed for several hours after the crash, which remains under investigation.==========Horse Dies in Rodeo AccidentPHILLIPSBURG, Kan. (AP) — A bucking horse has died after running into a fence during a Kansas rodeo event and breaking her neck. The Hays Daily News reports the 6-year-old mare, Jitterbug, had her head down while bucking at the Phillipsburg Rodeo on Friday and went straight into a fence. A veterinarian at the arena says the horse died instantly and did not suffer.==========Inmate Escapes from Hutchinson PrisonTOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A Topeka man is on the run after escaping from a minimum security unit at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility where he was being held on burglary and shoplifting convictions. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Mark Lucas fled from the facility between 1 and 2 p.m. yesterday (SAT). The 44-year-old is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

(AP) — A 14-year-old Hutchinson boy has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with a house fire that killed his mother and 11-year-old sister. Reno County District Attorney Keith Schroeder tells the Wichita Eagle he charged the boy yesterday (FRI) as a juvenile but says he'll seek to try the teen as an adult.=====Former Kansas Lawmaker Killed in Mower AccidentWAVERLY, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska authorities are investigation the death of a former Kansas lawmaker and athletics official whose body was found beneath a riding lawn mower. The Lincoln Journal Star reported yesterday (FRI) that relatives found the body of 66-year-old Ricky Bowden in a building on his property near Lincoln, Nebraska. Bowden served in the Kansas Legislature from 1985 to 1993. He also served for 18 years as assistant director for the Kansas State High School Activities Association before retiring in 2011. =====Topekan Charged in Shooting, ArsonTOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A 40-year-old Topeka man has been charged with first-degree murder over the January 2012 shooting of a local developer described as a friend and business partner. Monroe Lockhart also faces a felony arson charge in a complaint filed yesterday (FRI) in Shawnee County District Court by District Attorney Chad Taylor.=====Military Appeals Court to Hear HIV Assault CaseWICHITA, Kan. (AP) — The highest court for the U.S. armed forces has agreed to hear the appeal of a Kansas airman convicted of assault for exposing multiple sex partners to HIV at swinger parties in Wichita. The attorney for David Gutierrez said yesterday (FRI) the case will set the standard across the military as to what evidence is necessary to prove someone can cause "grievous bodily harm" after testing positive for HIV.
