"The Secret Buttons"

On this edition of Conversations, Ellen Shapiro talks with host Dan Skinner about her illustrated children's novel, "The Secret Buttons." It tells the story of two Jewish sisters who leave Vienna and travel to England and then to America to escape the Nazis during World War Two. Ellen M. Shapiro is a graphic designer and writer. The novel was inspired by her mother’s memories of the Holocaust in Vienna and life in wartime England.

Dan Skinner is a former Director of Kansas Public Radio and the Audio-Reader Network. He is the host of KPR's Conversations program.
