The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warningand a Winter Weather Advisoryfor portions of the KPR listening area.
A Winter Storm Warningwill be in effect from midnight Thursday to 8 pm Friday for: Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Miami and Linn counties in Kansas, including the cities of Paola, Osawatomie, Louisburg, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City, Fort Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Lansing, Kansas City Kansas, Overland Park, Stanley, Olathe, Shawnee and Lenexa.
* WHAT: Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations up to three tenths of an inch.
* WHERE: Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and north-central, northeast, northwest and west central Missouri.
* WHEN: From midnight tonight to 8 PM CST Friday.
* IMPACTS: Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

This includes Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Jefferson, Dickinson, Geary, Morris, Wabaunsee, Shawnee, Douglas, Lyon, Osage, Franklin, Coffey and Anderson counties. The Winter Weather Advisory also includes the cities of Manhattan, Wamego, St. Marys, Holton, Valley Falls, Oskaloosa, Perry, McLouth, Grantville, Meriden, Nortonville, Abilene, Herington, Junction City, Council Grove, Alma, Eskridge, Maple Hill, Alta Vista, McFarland, Harveyville, Paxico, Topeka, Lawrence, Emporia, Osage City, Carbondale, Lyndon, Burlingame, Overbrook, Ottawa, Burlington, Lebo and Garnett.
* WHAT: Areas of heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches possible from central to northeast Kansas. Ice accumulations of up to one quarter of an inch possible, mainly over portions of far east central Kansas.
* WHERE: Portions of central, east central and northeast Kansas.
* WHEN: From midnight Thursday to 6 PM CST Friday.
* IMPACTS: Plan on slick roads, hazardous driving conditions and the possibility of an appearance from the Night King.
