A new musical project in Lawrence launches tonight (FRI) with a concert at Liberty Hall. The Lawrence Songbook, the first of its kind, is a community project celebrating local songwriters and the music they play. KPR contributor Nick Carswell files this report.
That piece was produced by Nick Carswell, the program director for the Kansas Audio-Reader Network and the frontman for the group Carswell and Hope.
The Lawrence Songbook showcase concert begins at 7 o'clock tonight (FRI) at Liberty Hall. The concert features songs from the songbook, interpreted by a variety of musicians and performers from the community. Nick Carswell will also be performing at the show.
