Centron Films, based in Lawrence, was one of the premier industrial and educational filmmakers in the U.S., producing short instructional and training films from 1947 to 1994. Centron was a small, yet highly successful company that used Lawrence locations and hired local actors and extras. As KPR’s Tom Parkinson reports, “The Stars of Centron” will feature a collection of the quirky short films along with appearances by some of the people who produced and acted in them.
The “Stars of Centron” is free and starts at 7 tonight, Thursday, June 22, at Liberty Hall in Lawrence.
The Prelinger Archives of San Francisco offers many Centron films for download and public use. Find some of them HERE.
