The Obama administration is submitting a plan to Congress to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and transfer suspected terrorists to the United States. Kansas Senator Jerry Moran calls the move reckless.
Fort Leavenworth is just one of multiple sites under consideration as a place to house GITMO detainees. Fellow Kansas Republican Senator Pat Roberts is also against the idea and says the president's rationale for closing GITMO doesn't make sense.
The four U.S. Representatives from Kansas, all Republicans, are also opposed to the president's plan.
