Santa Claus has announced that he will delay his annual meet-and-greet with Lawrence children that had been scheduled for tonight (FRI) until Friday night, December 4th.  When reached for comment, Mr. Claus stated "I don't want anyone to get hurt on the way to see me tonight (FRI). I'm not worried about myself, but most people coming to see me won't have flying reindeer...ho, ho, ho. The elves and I want to be sure it's safe for everyone to get downtown and back home again." Despite his busy schedule, Claus promised to make time for a visit next week. "It's no trouble at all," Claus said. "I can always make time for the children in Lawrence and Douglas County. I happen to know there are a lot of children being especially good in that region this year." He plans to arrive at Weaver's Department Store in downtown Lawrence at 6 pm next Friday evening.
