NBC's Bob Dotson Receives William Allen White Award
Bob Dotson, a national news correspondent for NBC, is at the University of Kansas today (THUR) to receive the William Allen White Citation from the KU School of Journalism. A graduate of KU himself, Dotson has spent more than four decades working in broadcast news. Many know him best for his award-winning reports on NBC's Today show. KPR's J. Schafer spoke to Dotson about his career, including his time here - working for Kansas Public Radio, or what was then called KANU Radio.

NBC's Bob Dotson Receives Journalism Award at KU
Bob Dotson, a national news correspondent for NBC, is the recipient of this year's William Allen White Citation from the University of Kansas School of Journalism. Many know him best for his award-winning work on the Today show. Dotson enrolled at KU nearly 50 years ago to study law but got hooked on journalism by working at a campus radio station (KANU FM). And he's been telling telling news stories ever since.
Dotson was presented with the journalism award Thursday on the KU campus.
