Bernard Herrmann wrote for every medium of his time - radio, television, movies, opera and concert hall - but he was best known for his brilliant film scores, many of them for the 20th century's greatest directors, including Orson Welles, Francois Truffaut, Martin Scorcese and, of course, Alfred Hitchcock. This week on Film Music Friday we'll hear excerpts from Herrmann's scores for Citizen Kane, The Day the Earth Stood Still, North by Northwest, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Psycho and more.
