Lawrence Library Presents: Walking Across Kansas

Henry Fortunato likes to walk. In the fall of last year, he decided to take a stroll across Kansas. From his home in Johnson County to just inside the Mountain Time Zone in Greeley County, his 450-mile trip took 39 days. Fortunato, who was the 2013-2014 Simons Fellow in Public Humanities at the University of Kansas, talked with KPR's Laura Lorson about why he went, and what he learned on the way.

That's Henry Fortunato, an Overland Park man who walked across the state last year. He will give a free talk about his walk tonight (THUR) at the Lawrence Public Library at 7 o'clock. It's presented in conjunction with the "About Lawrence" feature in Lawrence Magazine. For more information, visit the Lawrence Public Library website.
