KU's Hall Center Welcomes New Director

The Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas sponsors lectures, informal talks and other events designed to promote the humanities. KU faculty and graduate students from across academic disciplines work together on common interests to highlight the importance of the liberal arts. For years, the center was under the leadership of Dr. Victor Bailey... but he stepped down from that post in 2017. Earlier this year, historian Richard Godbeer became the new director. He talked with Laura Lorson about the challenges inherent to leading a program that is, by definition, broad-ranging and eclectic.

Dr. Richard Godbeer is Director of the Hall Center for the Humanities and the Charles W. Battey Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Kansas. He spoke with KPR's Laura Lorson. For more information about the Hall Center and its many programs, visit hallcenter.ku.edu.
