KPR Presents: Clarina Nichols and the Fight for Women's Rights in Kansas

Photo of Clarina Nichols from Kansas State Historical Society

Week of August 23, 2020: This month marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, granting women across the country the right to vote. But here in Kansas, women could vote long before the 19th Amendment, thanks in part to the work of Clarina Nichols. On this week's KPR Presents, we travel back in time to meet Clarina Nichols, brought to life by Diane Eickhoff, author of "Revolutionary Heart: The Life of Clarina Nichols and the Pioneering Crusade for Women's Rights."

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
