This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail. In the months ahead, a number of activities will take place in Kansas and Missouri, celebrating the trail and recognizing its importance to American history. September will mark 200 years since the first successful trading expedition was launched along the trail. Today, we launch our own journey along the Santa Fe Trail with Rex Buchanan and Dave Kendall, who've been working together on a documentary project. This is the first installment of a new monthly radio series on KPR.
