Volunteers Needed to Help Abused, Neglected Children
Last year, more than 6,000 Kansas children entered the court system as victims of abuse and neglect. One agency advocating for abused children is CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates. Aaron Estabrook works for the Sunflower CASA Project in Manhattan, which serves children in Clay, Riley and Pottawatomie counties.
Estabrook says CASA chapters all across the state are actively recruiting new volunteers during April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
