It's KPR's 70th Anniversary - and We've Got the Tote Bag to Prove It!

This is a big moment for all of us who love public radio: September 15 marked the 70th anniversary of Kansas Public Radio's (KANU) first on-air broadcast.

To mark the occasion and ensure KPR is around for the next 70 years of news, music and entertainment, join other KPR listener-members by donating during our fall fanfare membership drive.

We've served as our community's gateway to essential news coverage, locally and around the globe, as well as classical, jazz, and a vast array of entertaining programs. We're proud to provide this service free of charge to anyone who may need it.

But this type of service costs money. When you become a monthly sustainer today or upgrade your monthly support, or make a one-time gift, you lay the foundation for our team at KPR as we plan and budget for the news and exciting entertainment opportunities to come. You ensure that trusted, reliable information and music that sooths the soul remains available to all. Plus, you can claim our limited-edition 70th Anniversary ChicoBag (sustainably made from recycled materials) when you become a Sustainer.

Donate online or give us a call at 888-577-5268. And thank you for your support of KPR!

Donate during The Moth (Saturday, 9/24, 5-6 p.m.) over the weekend for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the The Moth Mainstage at the Lied Center on 11/4/22, or wait until Monday, September 26, for Theater Monday when we'll be giving away a pair of season tickets to Theatre Lawrence performances.* We'll also have Sustaining Member 70 Day on September 28, where an anonymous Topeka donor is appealing to 70 new and upgrading Sustainers with a $7,000 challenge.

*Technically, donations aren't required for prize drawings, but a gift to KPR would sure be appreciated! Every penny protects the programming you depend on every day. See here for more information about KPR Prize Drawings.
