Science on Tap

Science on Tap

Join us at Free State Brewing Company for the next Science on Tap event! Special guest Jorge Soberón, University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Director of the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum, will use history and science to explain how a tiny cactus-dwelling insect became a global commodity in his presentation "The Bug, the Moth, and the Weed." Soberón is a senior scientist in biodiversity modeling whose research focuses on documenting and understanding large-scale spatial patterns in the biodiversity of terrestrial species.

This free presentation/Q&A is open to the public and will take place in the beer hall area at Free State Brewing Co.

The KU Biodiversity Institute is committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you require accommodations or services to participate, contact staff at biodiversity@ku.edu or 785-864-2344 at least two days before the event.
