Kansas history is replete with unusual characters. One of the most historically significant is also one of the most enigmatic: Boston Corbett, the man who shot John Wilkes Booth. Commentator Rex Buchanan just finished reading a new book on the strange life and times of Corbett, the soldier who killed the actor who killed President Lincoln. The book is called: The Madman and the Assassin, by Scott Martelle.
Commentator Rex Buchanan is the interim director of the Kansas Geological Survey at the University of Kansas. He's also a regular contributor to Kansas Public Radio.
