On this edition of Conversations, Hanan Misko, the School of Dance Director at the Lawrence Arts Center, talks about their production of The Nutcracker - A Kansas Ballet. The ballet is based on E.T.A. Hoffman’s original story and is set in Kansas during the Civil War. The music has also been adapted to give it a Kansas flavor. Misko discusses the history of the production and what makes this holiday tradition special.
