Conversations: Robyn Stein DeLuca, "The Hormone Myth"

The myth of the hormone-crazed woman is firmly entrenched in our culture. Examples abound in popular films, politics, business, advertisements, and social media. On this edition of Conversations, I talk with Robyn Stein DeLuca, PhD, about The Hormone Myth: How Junk Science, Gender Politics, & Lies about PMS Keep Women Down. The book shows how obsolete, and largely flawed, research combined with pervasive sexism, have perpetuated a hormone myth that lacks scientific basis. DeLuca hopes that her book will help remove the negative stereotypes about the impact of hormones on women and encourage society to embrace women's high functioning reality and true potential, across their lifetime.
