Conversations is sometimes serious and sometimes humorous, but always informative. Host Dan Skinner shares interviews with writers about recent works of fiction and non-fiction, featuring internationally known best-selling authors as well as new voices in literature. Conversations also shares updates on the area art scene through discussions about upcoming performances and exhibits. 

Conversations: Marlo Angell, Lawrence Art Center's Free State Festival

Marlo Angell is the Director of New Media at the Lawrence Arts Center, and the Founder and Director of the Free State Festival. On this edition of Conversations, we'll talk about the origin of the festival, and how it has grown over time to include much more than film. We'll also discuss the next Festival, which will take place in the Fall of 2018.

You may be familiar with the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka, but that is just one of the many ways that the Kansas Historical Society serves our state. On this edition of Conversations, Jennie Chinn, the Executive Director of the Kansas Historical Society joins us to talk about the organization's history and services.

On this edition of Conversations, she joins us to talk about The ChangeAbility Playbook: How to Navigate Your Own Change, which is a companion to her previous book, ChangeAbility: How Artists, Activists and Awakeners Navigate Change. 


Conversations: Erika Sanchez, "I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter"

Erika Sanchez is a poet, novelist, and essayist. Her writing has appeared in Rolling Stone, Salon, Cosmo for Latinas, and The Guardian, among others.  On this edition of Conversations, she joins us to talk about her young adult novel, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter. The novel, which is drawn from her own experiences, has been long listed for the National Book Award.
