Conversations is sometimes serious and sometimes humorous, but always informative. Host Dan Skinner shares interviews with writers about recent works of fiction and non-fiction, featuring internationally known best-selling authors as well as new voices in literature. Conversations also shares updates on the area art scene through discussions about upcoming performances and exhibits. 

Conversations: Dr. Seema Yasmin, "Viral BS: Medical Myths and Why We Fall for Them"

On this edition of Conversations, Dr. Seema Yasmin talks with host Dan Skinner about, “Viral BS: Medical Myths and Why We Fall for Them.” Dr. Yasmin is an Emmy Award–winning health reporter, epidemiologist and medical doctor. She is the director of the Stanford Center for Health Communication and a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University School of Medicine.


Conversations: Jason Naylor, "Live Life Colorfully: 99 Ideas to Add Joy, Positivity and Creativity to Your Life"

On this edition of Conversations, Jason Naylor talks with host Dan Skinner about his book, “Live Life Colorfully: 99 Ideas to Add Joy, Positivity and Creativity to Your Life.” Naylor is an artist and designer based in NYC, known for his bright colors and even brighter messages. In 2018, Jason was named by BUMBLE as one of the 100 Most Inspiring New Yorkers.


Conversations: Rachel Lynn Solomon, "The Ex Talk: Love is On the Air"

On this edition of Conversations, Rachel Lynne Solomon talks with host Dan Skinner about “The Ex Talk – Love Is On the Air.” The romantic comedy novel is set in a public radio station. Solomon formerly worked in public radio and is the author of several books for teens and adults.

On this edition of Conversations, Ian Rosenberg talks with host Dan Skinner about “The Fight for Free Speech: Ten Cases That Define Our First Amendment Freedoms.” Rosenberg is a media lawyer and Emmy-Nominated filmmaker, who teaches media law at Brooklyn College and has worked as a legal counsel for ABC News since 2003.


Conversations: Frances Mayes, "Always Italy"

On this edition of Conversations, Frances Mayes talks with host Dan Skinner about "Always Italy," which won the Lowell Thomas Award for best travel guide of 2020. She co-authored the book along with Ondine Cohane. Mayes is a best-selling travel author. Her books include "See You in the Piazza," "Under the Tuscan Sun," "Bella Tuscany," "Every Day in Tuscany" and “Year in the World.” She has also written novels and a memoir. 


Conversations: David Arnold, "The Electric Kingdom"

On this edition of Conversations, David Arnold talks with host Dan Skinner about his first science fiction novel, “The Electric Kingdom.” The dystopian story is set 20 years after a worldwide pandemic decimates most of the population. Arnold is the New York Times bestselling author of “Kids of Appetite,” “Mosquitoland,” and “The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik.”

Benes is an award-winning author who has written for multiple publications, including "The Nation," "New York" magazine, "Rolling Stone," "Slate," and "The Wall Street Journal," just to name a few.

Her previous books include “Simply Clean” and “The Organically Clean Home.”


Conversations: Eliza Jane Brazier, "If I Disappear"

On this edition of Conversations, Eliza Jane Brazier talks with host Dan Skinner about her novel, "If I Disappear." It's the story of a True Crime podcaster who disappears and the dedicated listener who investigates. Brazier is an author, screenwriter and journalist. She currently lives in Los Angeles where she is also developing the novel for television.


Conversations: Henry Bial, "KU Theatre on the Air"

On this edition of Conversations, Henry Bial talks with host Dan Skinner about the Jayhawk Theatre on the Air. Bial is the Chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of Kansas.
