Kansas lawmakers have hit the halfway mark of this year's session. Last week, the Senate passed a bill allowing residents to carry concealed firearms without a permit and without any special training. And that's just one of several bills taken up by the Legislature, which was trying to meet an important deadline. Last Friday was "Turnaround Day." That's the day most bills must be passed by at least one chamber or they are considered dead for the session. KPR's J.
