Kansas lawmakers are at least considering the idea of building a massive, $4.5 billion aqueduct from the Missouri River to western Kansas. One southwest Kansas official is urging legislators to stake a claim now to “high flow” water from the Missouri River. He says the state should reserve the water in case a once-forgotten aqueduct project is revived and funded. We get more from Jim McLean of the KHI News Service.
The House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee took no action on the aqueduct issue after Wednesday’s hearing.
