Governor Sam Brownback says he believes lawmakers in Washington will come to an agreement to avoid the effects of the so-called fiscal cliff. Brownback, who has served in both the U.S. House and Senate, thinks some kind of compromise could be reached.
If legislators don’t come to some budget agreement by the end of the year, automatic spending cuts and tax increases will both go into effect. Brownback says the cuts to the military could have a significant impact in Kansas.
