DHS Touring Statehouse and Other Government Buildings in Topeka

Officials from the Department of Homeland Security are touring the Statehouse and other government buildings today (TUE) in Topeka. DHS will review the security programs at buildings in the Capitol complex and made recommendations. Patrick Saleh (SAH-luh) is with the Capitol Police.

DHS is visiting Kansas as part of a free program aimed at increasing security in government facilities. Saleh says the state went through a similar review by the Secret Service around a decade ago.

Stephen Koranda is KPR's Statehouse reporter.
