New voter ID requirements in Kansas are on track to take effect next year. A task force met today (WED), to continue designing the rules and regulations for the new law. It will require voters to show a photo ID at the polls. The task force is made up of election officers from more than 15 counties. Secretary of State Kris Kobach says the group recommends standardizing voting forms across the state, to make implementing the new law easier.
Kobach believes the task force will meet one or two more times to finalize the rules. He hopes to have the regulations finished by this fall.
