The city of Topeka is hosting the Robertson Cup national hockey championship now through May 7th at the Kansas Expocentre. Arch Ecker, the play-by-play announcer for the North American Hockey League's Topeka Roadrunners, explains:
These amateur-status players are competing for college hockey scholarships and honing their skills for NCAA play. This year, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, the Amarillo Bulls, the Michigan Warriors, and our very own Topeka Roadrunners are playing in the Robertson Cup round robin, which runs through May 7th at Landon Arena.
