The National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory is in effect for eastern Kansas. Forecaster Kris Craven says up to four inches of snow could be on the ground by tomorrow (TUE) morning.The winter weather advisory remains in effect for northeast and east-central Kansas until 6 o'clock tomorrow (TUE) morning.
  • A judge threw out a suit against Fox News by a former Trump supporter who said he got death threats when the network aired false conspiracy theories about his involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
  • Some of the biggest proponents of conspiracy theories about vaccines and elections regularly tour the country together. Many of the speakers are closely tied to former President Donald Trump.
  • An Adidas executive and two others have been convicted in a corruption case that prosecutors said exposed the underbelly of college basketball recruiting. A federal jury in Manhattan found the former Adidas shoe company employee and two other men guilty of fraud. The trial centered on whether the men's admitted efforts to channel secret payments to the families of top recruits luring them to major basketball programs sponsored by Adidas was criminal. The trial has possible implications for the basketball program at the University of Kansas because of testimony that discussed a KU player and because KU has a contract with Adidas.
  • The most critical question in Afghanistan today is whether the Afghan military can keep the country safe from the Taliban. An NPR team went looking for the answer, and two of the group were killed.

  • Members of the Kansas House approved a budget bill last (THUR) night. The Senate already has approved its own budget legislation. Negotiators for the two chambers are working to draft a final version are continuing talks this (FRI) morning. Setting the budget is the major job left on the agenda before lawmakers can adjourn their annual session.
