Jeff Watson Takes Us to the Movies With Film Music Friday

The Corporation Video Production

Following longtime host and Program Director Darrell Brogdon's retirement, Film Music Friday fans can rest easy knowing the program is in excellent hands. Afternoon Classical host Jeff Watson is joining the night shift and taking us all to the movies. He's bringing his classical expertise and personal affinity for film to listeners every Friday night.

When asked how he might approach selecting music for Film Music Friday, compared to his classical show, Jeff pointed to his roots. "One thing that is a clue might be my childhood. It took place throughout the 1980s, and the sound of movies from that era [was] when I first started to love this music. I suppose listeners can expect more than a little nostalgia for that time."

Unsurprisingly, when asked about his favorite films, classical music made an appearance - Amadeus (1984). And while it may be one of his favorites, Jeff promises you can expect much more than Mozart on Friday evenings (though, you can still get plenty of that from him during Afternoon Classical, weekdays from noon to 3 p.m.).

"Mainly I'd just like listeners to know that I'm grateful for a chance to share a slightly different kind of musical experience," Jeff said. "I hope we have fun exploring the world of film music together."

Join Jeff for Film Music Friday beginning March 20, 7 - 9 p.m.
