Thanks to Hollywood and the iconic TV show Gunsmoke, Dodge City is symbolic of America’s Wild West past. That history gives present-day Dodge a leg up on other towns fighting for survival in rural Kansas. But, as Jim McLean of the Kansas News Service reports, Dodge’s immigrant population really sets it apart.
