Reflections on Kansas Senator Pat Roberts' Retirement and the Farm Bill

A federal lawmaker who’s been a key player in farm bill negotiations for decades says he’s hanging it up come 2020. Harvest Public Media’s Erica Hunzinger has more on Senator Pat Roberts’ decision.

He spent 16 years in the U.S. House and 22 years in the Senate, but this term will be the last for Republican Senator Pat Roberts. Nomin Ujiyediin (no-MEEN OO-jee-yed-EEN), of the Kansas News Service, reports that the senior senator from Kansas will not be running for re-election in 2020. Roberts made the announcement Friday in Manhattan.
