Kansas Reaches Settlement for Cleanup at Former Zinc Mine

The U-S Government and seven states, including Kansas, filed suit against Blue Tee Corporation to recover the costs of cleaning up contaminants left behind by a former zinc mine.

Federal and Kansas state officials have reached a settlement worth more than $16 million to help clean up the hazardous leftovers of mining operations in southeast Kansas. Brian Grimmett reports for the Kansas News Service.
