The race for the Kansas 4th district Congressional seat is becoming more crowded. The position became open after Congressman Mike Pompeo was confirmed as CIA director on Monday.  Former Democratic state treasurer Dennis McKinney and current state treasurer Ron Estes formally began their campaigns yesterday (WED) for their parties’ nominations to get on the ballot.  Reporter Nadya Faulx has details.

The list of Kansans expressing interest in the 4th District seat also includes Republican Alan Cobb, a former lobbyist for the group, Americans for Prosperity, and former Republican Representative Todd Tiahrt. On the Democratic side, current Kansas House Representative Henry Helgerson of Wichita has also been mentioned along with Wichita businesswoman Laura Lombard and Charlie Walker, an Andover police officer.
