On August 25th of 1916, Woodrow Wilson signed legislation creating the National Park Service. As it marks its centennial this year, the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Chase County, Kansas, observes its 20th anniversary. Freelance contributor Dave Kendall has spent the past year conducting interviews and shooting footage for a feature-length documentary about this National Park site in the heart of the Flint Hills.
That story comes to us from freelance contributor Dave Kendall, of Prairie Hollow Productions. His documentary is called “Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve: A Flint Hills Love Story.” It premieres on the 20th anniversary of the preserve – Saturday, November 12th, with a public screening that evening at the Emporia Granada Theatre. More information can be found on the Prairie Hollow Productions website and Facebook page. Dave Kendall is the former host of Sunflower Journeys on KTWU, Channel 11 in Topeka.
